The holiday apartments of “I Tre Merlotti” are tucked in an old farmhouse situated in a tiny cluster of houses called Merlotti (the name became “The Three Baby Blackbirds” as Carlo and I have three boys). The hamlet is in the middle of vineyards and hazelnut orchards 3 kilometres from La Morra facing Cherasco, also a beautiful historic village. It is approached by a quiet country road that follows the crest of a hill overlooking the Cuneo plain and the Alps. The panoramic view is certainly one of the most dramatic in the area. On a clear day you can see the chain of Alps from above Lake Como in the north-east down to the maritime alps blocking the Mediterranean in the south (Monte Rosa, Matterhorn, Monviso..) and you can also entertain yourself counting the hundreds of villages, some with castles and palaces.
The apartments are all very spacious with 4 beds. Each has a bedroom with double bed, a living room with a pull-out sofa with two singles, a kitchen area and bathroom.

Being in the centre of The Langhe, there are unlimited choices of villages, churches and castles to visit nearby( Serralunga, Grinzane Cavour, Barolo, Racconigi…) not to mention the renowned restaurants that abound. As well as bike rides among the vineyards and orchards, the zone offers a fine golf course (5 minutes), various swimming pools in the adjacent towns (Barolo, Monforte, Bra…), mountain hikes in the splendid Alpine valleys (Val Maira, Val Varaita, Val Grana…) and hot spring baths (Vinadio, Valdieri..) to relax you. Not to forget the Ligurian coast which is only one hour away for a day trip. Turin, a “small Paris”, is only 60 km away with its palaces, museums and churches.
